  2. Mr. Molotov was foreign minister of the USSR (in the civilian suit). He
    was stranded in Gander for 2 days after visiting the US to convince
    them to open a 2nd front in their war with Germany.

  2. Arrival of Lord Beaverbrook at the RAF site in 1941. The whole are
    was known as the Beaver Centre.
    The RAF handled the "ferrying" of
    war planes to Britain through Gander.
